Welcome to Journey Into Misery, where I explain complicated comics characters, continuity and concepts to the patient and perpetually perplexed Helena Hart.
There’s a Starman, waiting in this podcast! Multiple Starmen, as we talk about one of the most sprawling superhero legacies in DC Comics history.
You can listen to JOURNEY INTO MISERY a number of ways, including Libsyn, iTunes or Stitcher. Alternatively, you could just click play on that little button below.
[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/journeyintomisery/Starman_mixdown.mp3]We have a Patreon to cover the hosting costs and hopefully be able to put out more shows that last longer. If you enjoy what we’re doing and want more, please take a look at the rewards we’ve got and consider signing up.
Bonus episodes
Every month on the Patreon, we do a few bonus episodes that supporters get advance access to. We wanted to make them available to everyone though, and some people have told us they want to support the show in a less linear fashion, so they are available for pay-what-you-want on Gumroad.
It’s important to us that they are available to everyone, and please feel free to take every one of the bonus episodes for free. However, if you do want to contribute to the show in any way, the option is there.
Image Gallery
As I go through the podcast, I bring up images to show Helena what a character looks like. You can follow along with this image gallery.
YouTube
We’ve started doing monthly video episodes of Journey Into Misery, as well as irregular Let’s Play style videos.
We have a Facebook now, where we can keep in better contact with our listeners, and ask you guys questions about upcoming episodes.

I would like to hear a podcast about the Legion of Super-heroes. Obviously, that’s a lot of ground to cover, so it would probably be isolated to a certain era/creative team. “Legion of the Damned”/”Legion Lost”/”Legion Worlds”/”The Legion”, maybe? The “Five Years Later” Legion? The Waid/Kitson “threeboot” Legion? anyway, your choice. Thanks for doing this. I love hearing Helena’s reactions. It’s nice to get a fresh perspective instead of the subconscious hive-mind that longtime fans often turn into.
