Cinema Crisis #2: Throne of Atlantis

Welcome to Journey Into Misery, where I explain complicated comics characters, continuity and concepts to the patient and perpetually perplexed Helena Hart.

Helena and I went away this weekend, which meant there was just no time to write the necessary show notes for a full episode of Journey Into Misery. So instead, we decided to do two bonus episodes.

We didn’t want to deprive people who already listened to the Crossover Chaos of new content, so we did something brand new for everyone as well. We watched the movie Justice League: Throne of Atlantis to see if Aquaman could live up to Helena’s idealised vision of him that she’s created, and to see if a Geoff Johns Justice League story translates better animated than it does on the page.

You can listen to JOURNEY INTO MISERY a number of ways, including Libsyn, iTunes or Stitcher. Alternatively, you could just click play on that little button below.

We now do Let’s Plays over at our new YouTube channel! We’re currently journeying into Injustice: Gods Among Us.

We have a Patreon to cover the hosting costs and hopefully be able to put out more shows that last longer. If you enjoy what we’re doing and want more, please take a look at the rewards we’ve got and consider signing up.

If you liked this episode, Cinema Crisis #1 is Daredevil (2003), and Cinema Crisis #3 is Howard The Duck. The former is available on both Patreon and Gumroad, but the latter is currently exclusive to Patreon.

Bonus episodes

Every month on the Patreon, we do a few bonus episodes that supporters get advance access to. We wanted to make them available to everyone though, and some people have told us they want to support the show in a less linear fashion, so they are available for pay-what-you-want on Gumroad.

It’s important to us that they are available to everyone, and please feel free to take every one of the bonus episodes for free. However, if you do want to contribute to the show in any way, the option is there.
