Episode 4: The Flash (2000s)

Welcome to Journey Into Misery, where I explain complicated comics characters, continuity and concepts to the patient and perpetually perplexed Helena Hart.

This week we’re talking about The Flash in 2000s, from the highs of Geoff Johns, to the lows of… Geoff Johns.

  1. Reblogged this on William Chasterson and commented:
Chapter 3 – There comes a time when you’ve got to stop running away from things and you’ve got to start running towards something.

    – The Flash

“You’ll never take us alive Metaphysical Man!” Our hero is in hot pursuit of two Rebel’s Creed members who were spotted staking out a postal warehouse. Two flaming skulls set on black leather jackets rip through the downtown streets of Atro City on Harleys. “You’re not getting away from me this time,” thinks Metaphysical Man as he tears after them. When flying this low MM has the added burden of avoiding pedestrians. Nevertheless our hero keeps the flaming skulls in his field of vision. Apparently thinking they had shaken free of their tail, the goons turned into a dead end alley. “Gotcha!” thought Metaphysical Man. When he turned into the dark alley although he couldn’t see them Double M knew his enemies were cornered. In this desperate situation they were more dangerous than ever. He needed to quickly apprehend them before someone got hurt. “Give yourselves up!” shouted Metaphysical Man. “It’s over. If you cooperate and tell me what The Dark Rebel is up to, I will make sure the judge takes it into consideration at your sentencing.”
